TPC Jasna Polana occupies one of the more remarkable estate-to-golf-club conversions in American golf. The 46,000-square-foot Georgian-style mansion at its center -- designed by Wallace Harrison, the architect behind Rockefeller Center, Lincoln Center, and the United Nations Headquarters -- was built in 1975 as a roughly $30 million private country home for Johnson & Johnson heir J. Seward Johnson Sr. and his third wife, Barbara Piasecka Johnson, at the time one of the most expensive private residences in the country. In 1996 the Princeton Regional Planning Board approved converting the 222-acre estate into a golf course; Gary Player designed the layout, and the club opened in 1998 as a private country club, later joining the PGA Tour's licensed TPC Network. Player himself reportedly called it 'the finest course of its type' he had designed.

In July 2024, Concert Golf Partners -- a national private-club operator and investment firm, selected by the Piasecka Johnson family from a field of roughly 20 bidders -- acquired the club, becoming its 34th property nationally alongside clubs like The Club at Pasadera (California) and The Club at Renaissance (Florida). Concert Golf has since committed roughly $3 million toward amenity investment at the property.

For a golf-oriented Princeton buyer, Jasna Polana represents the newest and most architecturally dramatic of the area's private clubs -- a modern, Gary Player-designed championship layout wrapped around a genuinely historic mansion -- but it is not a residential community. The 222 acres belong to the club itself; there is no subdivision, HOA, or bundled-home product to buy into. Its residential relevance instead comes from its setting: the corner of Province Line Road and Route 206, part of one of greater Princeton's most consistently expensive estate-home corridors.

Golf & Course

The 18-hole, par-72 Gary Player design plays to roughly 7,098 yards from the tips with a slope rating of 144, built with significant elevation changes and natural water features across the former estate grounds. It opened for play in 1998, two years after Princeton's planning board approved the estate's conversion from private residence to golf course.

Membership & Access

Does buying a home here include club membership?

No — homeownership does not automatically include membership. See details below.

Membership is private and application-based, structured around golf/corporate and social categories; there is no public play. Reported initiation figures (a $75,000-$95,000 range for golf/corporate membership and roughly $12,000 for social membership, plus separate annual dues) come from a third-party membership-cost aggregator rather than the club's own site, so this research treats them as unconfirmed and does not publish them as verified pricing.

Living in TPC Jasna Polana

There is no residential subdivision or HOA-governed community physically part of TPC Jasna Polana -- the 222 acres are the club's own grounds. The club's residential relevance rests on its location within one of Princeton's most expensive historic estate corridors (Province Line Road/Route 206), not on a bundled housing product.

Location & Surrounding Area

TPC Jasna Polana sits at the corner of Province Line Road and Route 206 in Princeton, Mercer County, within the same general Princeton golf corridor as Springdale Golf Club, a few miles from downtown Princeton and Princeton University.
