Shackamaxon Country Club

Shackamaxon Country Club is a century-old private club in Scotch Plains, Union County, designed by A.W. Tillinghast and acquired by Heritage Golf Group in 2021 as the ninth property in that company's national portfolio (now 40-plus clubs across 15 states). It offers several distinct paid membership categories -- Family Full Privilege, Young Executive (under 40), Social, Sports, and Weekday Golf -- each with different levels of course and amenity access, plus an optional reciprocal-access benefit across the Heritage Golf Group network. This is a genuine sweep find for this batch: it was not named in the original research brief or in the discovery-stage candidate list, but surfaced independently during a broader corridor sweep after the discovery pass flagged it for a closer look. No bundled residential development was found; it anchors the affluent Scotch Plains residential area in the same freestanding, old-guard pattern as most of this market's other clubs.
