Connect With a Local Real Estate Specialist

Engineers Country Club was founded in 1917 by members of the Engineers Club of Manhattan, on a 140-acre Roslyn Harbor site designed by English architect Herbert Strong (with a 1921 remodel by Devereux Emmet). The club's tournament record is genuinely significant: it hosted the 1919 PGA Championship, won by Jim Barnes, and the 1920 U.S. Amateur, won by Chick Evans -- both nationally significant championships held in the club's earliest years. The course is known for severely undulating, large greens.

Engineers is now operated as part of the Invited (formerly ClubCorp) managed-club network rather than as an independent member-owned institution, a structural difference from several of its Gold Coast neighbors worth noting for a prospective member.
