New York Country Club
18-hole, par-72 semi-private club (Stephen Kay design, ~6,643 yards, opened mid-1990s) on a ~150-acre property at 103 Brick Church Road, New Hempstead (Town of Ramapo), Rockland County. The property was sold in 2023 for $35M with plans for a 318-425 single-family home conversion, and a neighborhood association sued in Rockland County Supreme Court in December 2025 to stop the redevelopment on Open Meetings Law and SEQRA grounds. That litigation remains unresolved as of this research (no ruling found, no construction underway), and the course itself continues to physically operate: it has a working reservations line, a live Chronogolf tee-time booking listing, a June 1, 2026 dated player review describing recent driving-range and clubhouse improvements, and a functioning membership program (a 'Credit Line Membership' among other categories, per its own site) run by a named Director of Golf.

What to Independently Verify
This property carries real, active redevelopment risk: it was sold in 2023 for a proposed 318-425 home conversion, and although a neighbor-led lawsuit is currently blocking final approval, that litigation is unresolved and could go either way. A buyer should treat this as an operating semi-private club today, not a stable long-term golf amenity -- verify the Rockland County Supreme Court case's status directly before relying on this course's continued existence for any home-buying decision in the surrounding area.
