TPC River's Bend sits on 476 acres in Maineville, a Warren County community about 25 miles northeast of downtown Cincinnati, and represents one of the clearest examples in Ohio of a residential development physically organized around a marquee golf course rather than merely located near one. The Arnold Palmer-designed (with Ed Seay) 18-hole, par-72 course opened in the early 2000s as a licensed member of the PGA Tour's Tournament Players Club network -- one of a select group of courses nationally to carry the TPC name -- and the surrounding River's Bend community was built out concurrently, with home sites wrapped directly around the fairways, creeks, and waterfalls that define the course's routing. Arcis Golf, a national operator of 88 private, resort, and daily-fee courses, purchased the club from the PGA Tour in December 2022 and has continued to run it as a private, application-based club with golf and social membership tiers, distinct from and independent of the surrounding neighborhood's own homeowners association. For a golf-oriented buyer, River's Bend is best understood as two related but legally and financially separate products layered on the same 476 acres: a golf club you apply and pay to join, and a residential HOA whose dues fund a large shared recreation campus that has nothing to do with the golf course itself.

Golf & Course

The course was designed by Arnold Palmer with longtime design partner Ed Seay, stretching to roughly 7,180 yards at a par of 72, and has carried real competitive pedigree since opening: it hosted the PGA Tour Champions' Kroger Classic from 2002 to 2004 (won in those years by Bob Gilder, Gil Morgan, and Bruce Summerhays) and, in 2010-2011, the Nationwide Tour's (the developmental tour now known as the Korn Ferry Tour) Chiquita Classic before that event relocated to North Carolina in 2012. This is a genuine correction worth stating plainly: TPC River's Bend has never hosted a WGC-Bridgestone/WGC-NEC event -- that event belonged exclusively to Firestone Country Club in Akron, a different Ohio club researched separately in this build -- and the Chiquita Classic specifically was a developmental-tour event, not a PGA Tour Champions tournament, a distinction worth being precise about even though both were genuine professional tournaments held at this course. Most recently, TPC River's Bend became the new home of the LPGA Tour's Kroger Queen City Championship starting in 2024, keeping the club in the rotation of professional golf in the Cincinnati market. The course itself features meaningful elevation change through mature hardwoods with water in play on six holes, plus a 12-acre, PGA Tour-caliber practice facility.

Membership & Access

Does buying a home here include club membership?

No — homeownership does not automatically include membership. See details below.

Golf access at TPC River's Bend is not included with buying a home in the surrounding community. Arcis Golf sells Golf and Social memberships directly and separately from real estate; members also receive reciprocal access across Arcis's broader golf portfolio and the wider TPC Network. What IS included with home purchase is membership in the River's Bend Homeowners Association, which every homeowner in River's Bend, Vista Pointe, and The Fairways at River's Bend pays into via a bi-annual assessment (dollar amount not published in sources reviewed) -- and that HOA membership comes with automatic access to the HOA-owned Sportsplex recreation campus (pool, fitness center, tennis, pickleball, basketball, playground), regardless of whether a homeowner golfs or joins the club. In short: recreation is bundled with the home, golf is not.

Living in TPC River's Bend

The residential side of the 476-acre development is organized into at least three named sub-neighborhoods built around the course -- River's Bend proper, Vista Pointe, and The Fairways at River's Bend -- all governed by the same River's Bend Homeowners Association and sharing the same Sportsplex benefit. The HOA is professionally managed by Towne Properties under an elected volunteer board. Homesites are described by community marketing as heavily wooded with hike/bike paths and lake and river views in addition to golf-course frontage in places.

Lifestyle & Amenities

Beyond golf, the community's shared Sportsplex functions as the day-to-day recreational hub for residents who never set foot on the golf course: a six-lane lap pool, a children's splash pool, a fitness center with group classes and a cardio/weight room, and tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts, plus a playground. This gives River's Bend a broader family-recreation identity than a golf-only development, even though the golf club retains its own separate, more exclusive membership base.

Location & Surrounding Area

Maineville sits in Hamilton Township, Warren County, roughly 25 miles northeast of downtown Cincinnati, with some homes carrying South Lebanon mailing addresses; it is a suburban/exurban setting rather than an in-town Cincinnati neighborhood.

Notable

  • The residential development spans three named sub-neighborhoods -- River's Bend, Vista Pointe, and The Fairways at River's Bend -- all sharing the same HOA-owned Sportsplex recreation campus.
