In the early 1950s the club relocated to its current 128-acre Villanova site (Radnor Township) -- the Van Horn Ely Estate, purchased and settled September 1950 -- where, on Ross's own recommendation, architect J.B. McGovern designed the new championship course that opened in 1952.
