Champions Golf Club is the single strongest major-championship credential in Houston golf and the flagship anchor of the Cypress/Spring/Northwest Houston market. Founded in 1957 by Houston golf legends Jack Burke Jr. and Jimmy Demaret, the 36-hole private club (Cypress Creek and Jackrabbit courses) hosted the 1967 Ryder Cup and the 1969 U.S. Open, and in March 2026 the USGA confirmed it will host three more national championships through 2040. For a golf-oriented buyer, Champions represents pedigree and prestige more than a conventional bundled residential product — it is a freestanding private club with tiered membership, not a subdivision built into the course.
