Opened in 2002 as Redstone Golf Club (Peter Jacobsen/Jim Hardy-designed Member Course), the facility near Humble was purchased by Fort Worth-based Escalante Golf in April 2013 and renamed Golf Club of Houston that December. A second course, the Tournament Course (Rees Jones with tour pro David Toms), opened in 2006 and hosted the PGA Tour's Shell Houston Open from 2006-2019 (the Member Course hosted it 2003-2005). The Houston Open has since relocated permanently to Memorial Park Golf Course (2020-present, now the Texas Children's Houston Open). Golf Club of Houston has hosted LIV Golf Houston since 2024, giving it a current, if different, professional-tour identity.
