Meadowbrook Country Club, founded in 1957 on the historic Meadowbrook Farm estate in North Chesterfield, is a private, member-owned club roughly 20 miles from the Lake Chesdin area. In 2013, about 50 investor-members from both clubs formed Meadowbrook-Chesdin LLC, acquiring the 14-year-old Lake Chesdin Golf Club for roughly $1.2 million and merging it into Meadowbrook in an attempt to consolidate membership across the two Southside Richmond clubs. The arrangement did not last: financial concerns on the Chesdin side ended the partnership in 2014, and members were given the choice of which club to settle into. Meadowbrook and Lake Chesdin Golf Club have operated as separate, unaffiliated clubs since.
