The Valor Club (the membership brand now attached to the long-running Falcon Crest Golf Club) is the Boise metro market's clearest in-progress case: an active golf-course transition from public to semi-private happening at the same time as the 36-hole complex's surrounding land is being built out as Valor, a large master-planned community from Century Golf Partners and M3 Companies. Falcon Crest itself has a longer history than the new branding suggests -- owner and landscape architect Hans Borbonus first opened holes privately in 1997-1998, with the 18-hole Championship Course opening for play in 2001 and two additional nine-hole courses (the Cadet Course, 2004, and the Freedom Course, 2010) added over the following decade.

What is new is the residential integration: Century Golf Partners and M3 Companies broke ground on The Valor Club on Veterans Day, marking Falcon Crest's shift toward semi-private operation, timed with construction of the surrounding Valor community. Trilogy Valor, Shea Homes' 55+ neighborhood inside Valor, gives its homeowners a golf-membership classification ('Eagle Full Privilege') created specifically for them, open for reservation-list sign-up now ahead of the club's planned full transition to private -- a genuine homeowner-specific program, though membership itself remains a separate purchase rather than something bundled into the home price or HOA dues. Reveille at Valor, the community's non-age-restricted counterpart, markets homesites directly on Falcon Crest's golf-course frontage but does not appear to carry the same documented homeowner-specific membership program.

Because construction, membership terms, and the public-to-private transition are all actively in motion as of this research, buyers should treat marketing language here with more scrutiny than at an established club like SpurWing, and confirm current, ground-truth status directly before making any purchase decision based on golf access.

Golf & Course

Falcon Crest opened its first seven holes privately in 1997-1998 under owner/designer Hans Borbonus (owner of Cloverdale Nursery and a landscape architect by trade), with the full 18-hole Championship Course opening for play in 2001. The complex grew to 36 holes with the addition of the Cadet Course (9 holes, George Totorica, 2004) and the Freedom Course (9 holes, Hansgeorg Borbonus and George Totorica, 2010), plus an executive practice area. The course operated as a public facility for most of its history before Century Golf Partners and M3 Companies' Valor Club rebrand began its transition toward semi-private, and eventually private, operation.

Membership & Access

Does buying a home here include club membership?

No — homeownership does not automatically include membership. See details below.

Falcon Crest/The Valor Club remains open to public play today while its transition to semi-private/private membership continues. Golf membership (the 'Eagle Full Privilege' tier) is available to both Valor-community residents and a limited number of non-resident applicants -- it is not exclusive to homeowners, and it is not included with any home purchase in Trilogy Valor or Reveille at Valor. What Trilogy Valor homeowners specifically get is a dedicated membership classification and reservation list created for them ahead of the eventual private transition -- a real homeowner-priority mechanism, but still a paid membership they must purchase separately. The Valor Sub-Association and Treasure Valley Social Club memberships that come with a Trilogy Valor home explicitly do not include golf privileges.

Living in The Valor Club

Trilogy Valor is Shea Homes' 55+ neighborhood within the Valor master plan, targeting roughly 1,000 homes with single-family and duplex product, homes starting around $356K, and access to the Treasure Valley Social Club (fitness center, restaurant/bar, pickleball, lap pool, indoor and outdoor event space) bundled into HOA dues -- reported around $275/month as of a January 2025 fee schedule. Reveille at Valor is the community's non-age-restricted counterpart, built by Tresidio Homes with homes from roughly $554K-$1.17M and HOA dues reported around $170/month, marketed with direct golf-course-frontage homesites along Falcon Crest but without Trilogy's documented homeowner-specific golf-membership program.

Location & Surrounding Area

Valor sits in Kuna, roughly 16 miles (about 25-30 minutes) southwest of downtown Boise and about 12 miles from the airport, in an area with substantial nearby outdoor recreation access toward the Snake River and, farther afield, the Sawtooths.

What Buyers Should Verify

  • Confirm current construction status of both Trilogy Valor and Reveille at Valor -- how many homes are actually built/occupied versus still under construction -- directly with the developer.
  • Confirm the club's actual current membership terms and pricing (no published initiation fee or dues figure was found) directly with The Valor Club, since marketing materials may be ahead of finalized policy.
  • Confirm whether/when the course actually completes its transition from public to semi-private/private play, since this was an active, in-progress process at the time of this research.
  • Do not assume Reveille at Valor carries the same homeowner-specific golf-membership program documented for Trilogy Valor -- no source found confirms this for Reveille.

Notable

  • Century Golf Partners and M3 Companies broke ground on The Valor Club on Veterans Day, marking Falcon Crest's shift from a fully public course toward semi-private (and eventually private) operation.
  • Trilogy Valor homeowners can join a reservation list now for a golf-membership classification created specifically for them, ahead of the club's planned full transition to private.
  • The 36-hole complex was built in phases over roughly two decades: the Championship Course (2001), the Cadet Course (2004), and the Freedom Course (2010).
