CDA National Reserve is a private golf, sporting and wellness club spread across more than 1,000 acres on the shores of Lake Coeur d'Alene, organized around an 18-hole Tom Weiskopf championship course. The club has operated under a confusing sequence of names for a single physical facility: it opened in 2012 as The Club at Rock Creek under co-founders Bill Foley and Greg Lane, later came under the control of Foley's Las Vegas-based Cannae Holdings, and was acquired in 2021 by real-estate developer Frank T. Suryan Jr., who hired Tom Weiskopf to redesign the course and rebranded the property CDA National Reserve. Suryan has owned and operated the club continuously since that 2021 purchase; the widely covered June 2025 relaunch, announced under the banner 'New Edge Living, a Lyon Living Company,' was a major amenity and residential expansion under Suryan's existing ownership rather than a change of ultimate owner -- New Edge Living is Lyon Living's single-family/luxury-community division, and Suryan is chairman and CEO of both companies. Buyers researching this club online will encounter all three names describing the same facility and should not mistake the 2025 announcement for a change of ownership.

Membership works differently here than at a typical private club. CDA National Reserve's own materials state that full golf membership is available to approved candidates only after they have purchased a homesite or residence within the development -- non-owners cannot apply for full membership. On top of that residency gate, CEO Frank Suryan disclosed a one-time initiation fee of $150,000 (including an equity interest in the resort) in 2025 press coverage of the relaunch, alongside reported annual dues of roughly $22,500; neither figure comes from an official published fee schedule and both should be confirmed directly with the club. The 2025 expansion also added a longevity/wellness program (Clinic 5C, offering hyperbaric oxygen therapy, IV infusion and stem-cell banking) marketed as a separate 'Premier Longevity Membership,' a 20,000-square-foot clubhouse, a private waterfront lake house and marina, and a reported $165 million residential build-out.

That build-out includes 24 Fairway Lodges along the 17th fairway (from $2 million, with first move-ins targeted for summer 2026) and a planned Lake Lodges phase (from $3.5 million, completion projected 2027), on top of custom homesites that start around $535,000 and custom homes generally starting in the low-to-mid $2 millions. Golf-oriented buyers should treat CDA National Reserve as the clearest 'own it to join it' model documented in this market: golf access is not automatically included with a home purchase, but it is also not available to anyone who doesn't already own here, which makes the real-estate purchase itself the real gateway to membership.

Golf & Course

The course is a Tom Weiskopf design substantially reworked for the 2021 rebrand; as The Club at Rock Creek it had opened in 2012 under a different routing before Weiskopf's redesign for the new ownership. Coverage of the reimagined course describes a front stretch playing through pines and native grassland and a lakeside back stretch, including a signature downhill par-3 with dual greens and a 180-degree view of Lake Coeur d'Alene. The course is not currently on a national Top 100 list, but is regularly cited among Idaho's best alongside Gozzer Ranch and Black Rock.

Membership & Access

Does buying a home here include club membership?

Membership is tied to the property.

Full golf membership at CDA National Reserve is available only to approved candidates who have already purchased a homesite or residence in the development -- property ownership is a strict precondition for applying, but does not by itself grant membership. Buyers should not assume that purchasing here automatically includes golf access: a separate application, club approval, and a reported $150,000 initiation fee (plus annual dues) apply on top of the real-estate purchase.

Living in CDA National Reserve

The club is the organizing amenity for its own residential development rather than sitting adjacent to a separately built neighborhood: homesites, custom homes, and two new developer-built phases (Fairway Lodges and the planned Lake Lodges) are all sold directly through CDA National Reserve's own real estate arm.

Lifestyle & Amenities

Fitness centerPoolSpaMarina / boating accessPrivate beach accessDining

Amenities extend well beyond golf: a 20,000-sq-ft clubhouse, multiple dining venues, a private waterfront lake house and marina, a fitness and racquet-sports center, a hunt club, miles of hiking/biking trails, and -- new in 2025 -- a longevity/wellness clinic offering hyperbaric oxygen therapy, IV infusions and stem-cell banking.

Location & Surrounding Area

The club sits on Lake Coeur d'Alene in Kootenai County, close to the city of Coeur d'Alene and a short drive from Gozzer Ranch and the other North Idaho lake clubs it is now routinely compared against in local real-estate coverage.

What Buyers Should Verify

  • Confirm the current initiation fee and annual dues directly with the club -- the $150,000/$22,500 figures come from press coverage and third-party aggregators, not an official published fee schedule.
  • Confirm whether the 'Premier Longevity Membership' wellness program is sold as a standalone add-on or bundled with full golf membership.
  • Confirm current homesite and Fairway/Lake Lodge pricing and availability directly, since this is an active, still-under-construction development.
  • Do not confuse this club with unrelated 'Rock Creek'-named golf facilities published elsewhere on this site (Alabama's Rock Creek Golf Club, Oregon's Rock Creek Country Club) -- 'The Club at Rock Creek' is stored here only as this Idaho club's former name.
