Thinking About Living in Deepdale Golf Club?
Get connected with a local real-estate specialist who understands Deepdale Golf Club and the surrounding Long Island Gold Coast (North Shore) golf market.
Deepdale was founded in 1924 by William K. Vanderbilt II, using part of his own Deepdale summer estate at Lake Success, with a Charles B. Macdonald design (assisted by Seth Raynor) and an incorporation charter explicitly limiting membership. Notable past members included the Duke of Windsor and President Dwight D. Eisenhower, and the club counted four early USGA presidents among its membership, including George Walker, the benefactor for whom the Walker Cup is named.
When the Long Island Expressway was built through the north end of the original course in the 1950s, the club relocated to the nearby Joseph P. Grace Sr. estate ("Tullaroan," built 1910), commissioning a new Dick Wilson-designed course; the Grace mansion itself became the clubhouse. No bundled residential community is associated with Deepdale.
