Trophy Club Country Club sits at the center of Trophy Club, Texas, an incorporated town of roughly 13,700 residents straddling the Denton-Tarrant county line about 15 miles southwest of Denton. Often cited as one of Texas's first master-planned golf communities, the town takes its name directly from the club: golf legend Ben Hogan was commissioned to design the original course, and the development was conceived around the idea of a country club housing a trophy collection. What began as a golf-oriented residential development has since grown into a full municipality with its own schools, parks, and police and fire departments — but the club, now operated by Invited, remains a private facility distinct from simply living in the town.
Golf & Course
The Whitworth Course opened first (designed by Arthur Hills, 1975, later expanded/renovated with holes opening through 1984) and was renamed in 2008 to honor longtime Trophy Club resident and LPGA Hall of Famer Kathy Whitworth, whose trophies from her record 88 tour victories are displayed in the club's dining room. The Hogan Course opened in 1995, designed by Joe Lee in collaboration with Ben Hogan — notably the only golf course Hogan ever personally designed. Together the two courses total 36 holes; the club underwent a multi-million-dollar Whitworth Course renovation completed in 2020.
Membership & Access
Does buying a home here include club membership?
Trophy Club Country Club is a private club operated by Invited, drawing members from Trophy Club itself as well as neighboring Southlake, Keller, and Roanoke — membership is explicitly not limited to, or automatically granted to, residents of the town of Trophy Club. Living in the town carries no membership obligation or entitlement; joining the club is a separate private-club application process, as at other Invited-operated clubs in this market (Timarron).
Living in Trophy Club Country Club
Trophy Club the town includes a range of housing stock built up over five decades: original 1970s-1980s homes, traditional residences, golf-course-adjacent properties, newer construction, and gated custom-estate sections such as Hogan's Glen. Popular named neighborhoods include The Highlands at Trophy Club and The Lakes of Trophy Club. Home prices in the town span roughly the $450,000s to well over $1 million, with golf-course-fronting homes commanding a premium (median listing near $799,000 among golf-course-tagged listings).
Lifestyle & Amenities
Club amenities include the 36 holes of golf across the Hogan and Whitworth courses, tennis, fitness, swimming, dining, and social programming, consistent with other Invited-operated private clubs.
Location & Surrounding Area
Trophy Club sits along State Highway 114, straddling the Denton-Tarrant county line, adjacent to Westlake (Vaquero Club) and Southlake (Timarron Country Club) within this same northeast-Tarrant/southern-Denton gated-golf corridor, and near Roanoke and Keller.
